Germany says 2024 to be decisive for conflict in Ukraine
04 January 2024 17:31
Retired Lieutenant-General of the German Armed Forces Roland Kater has told the YouTube channel "Welt" that 2024 will be decisive in the conflict in Ukraine, Gazeta.ru reports.
According to Kater, 2024 will be a turning point in the Russian-Ukrainian conflict. The new year will show whether the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) will be able to seize the initiative.
"We have to be realistic in our assessments. Right now I see that the initiative is with the Russians," the retired lieutenant general emphasised.
He also believes that 2024 may decide on peace talks before the end of December.
