Hamas denies US president’s truce violation claims Calls his statements misleading
Hamas has strongly refuted recent statements made by US President Joe Biden, who accused the movement of violating the truce agreement in the Gaza Strip.
In a statement, Hamas officials expressed surprise and indignation at Biden’s remarks, labeling them as misleading and inaccurate, Caliber.Az reports via Russian media.
Hamas representatives asserted that the accusations do not reflect their actual stance on the ceasefire. The movement emphasized their commitment to ending the aggression in Gaza, countering claims that they are undermining the truce.
On August 15-16, Doha hosted a new round of consultations aimed at securing a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and facilitating the release of hostages held by Hamas. A joint statement from Egypt, Qatar, and the United States highlighted that the talks were conducted in a “positive atmosphere.” The discussions included a proposal from the US, supported by Qatar and Egypt, designed to bridge the gaps between Hamas and Israel.
However, Hamas has criticized the new US initiative, claiming it primarily serves Israel's interests and does not address their concerns adequately.
