How much will go to defence costs from Azerbaijan's 2024 state budget?

The funds that will be allocated in 2024 to strengthen the defence potential of Azerbaijan have been revealed.

According to Report, this is addressed in the draft consolidated and state budgets of Azerbaijan presented by the Ministry of Finance.

In order to strengthen the defence potential and further improve the material and technical support of the Armed Forces, funds in the amount of AZN 3 billion ($1.76 billion) are projected from the main expenditures of the next year's state budget.

In addition, to finance defence and national security costs, the judiciary, law enforcement agencies, and the prosecutor's office, funds in the amount of 25.5% of the 2024 state budget or AZN 9,377.7 ($5.5 billion) was allocated.
