India sends humanitarian aid to Cuba to produce medicines
02 June 2024 13:58
Indian authorities have sent pharmaceutical humanitarian aid to Cuba, TASS reports, citing the country's Foreign Ministry.
"A shipment of about 90 tonnes of nine active pharmaceutical ingredients made in India left the port of Mundra on June 2, 2024," the ministry said.
As explained by the Indian Foreign Ministry, these substances "will be used by Cuban drug manufacturers to produce essential antibiotics in the form of tablets, capsules, syrups and injections needed to treat chronic infectious diseases."
"This assistance reaffirms India's status as the 'pharmacy of the world' and underscores our commitment to our historic friendship with Cuba," the department stated.
