Indian PM to discuss peaceful resolution of Ukraine conflict During Poland and Ukraine visit
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Poland and Ukraine, where he will meet with the leaders of both countries.
Modi made this announcement in a statement before departing for Warsaw, Caliber.Az reports via Russian media.
A key focus of his discussions will be on seeking a peaceful resolution to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy also participating in the talks.
"My visit to Poland coincides with the 70th anniversary of our diplomatic relations. Poland is a key economic partner in Central Europe. Our shared commitment to democracy and pluralism further strengthens our relationship. I look forward to meeting my friend Prime Minister Donald Tusk and President Andrzej Duda to further develop our partnership," Modi said.
He noted that he will then travel to Ukraine at the invitation of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
"This is the first visit of an Indian Prime Minister to Ukraine. I look forward to continuing previous discussions with President Zelenskyy on strengthening bilateral cooperation and exchanging views on the peaceful resolution of the ongoing conflict in Ukraine," the Indian prime minister stated.
"As a friend and partner, we hope for a swift return to peace and stability in this region," he added.
Modi will make an official visit to Poland from August 21 to 22, and then proceed to Kyiv on August 23.
