Ukraine to lose if rejects Trump's request Former FM says
Former Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba has said that if Ukraine does not move towards negotiations, it will lose the military conflict.
Both Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Russian President Vladimir Putin have shown a willingness to negotiate in order not to refuse US President-elect Donald Trump, Kuleba said in an interview with the Financial Times (FT), Caliber.Az reports.
He speculated that the country which first refuses the US leader will lose in this game.
The FT journalist noted that a favourable outcome for Ukraine is unlikely, as Trump had previously expressed admiration for Putin and had been cold toward Zelenskyy.
Earlier, Kuleba expressed doubts about the intentions of European countries to continue supporting Kyiv if US assistance were to stop or decrease following a victory by Trump in the presidential elections. He noted that the EU member states would have to either accept a greater share of responsibility or follow the example set by the new US leader.
