Britain reaffirms support for Ukraine
On August 9 evening, British Foreign Secretary David Lammy held talks on Ukraine with US Vice President JD Vance, Volodymyr Zelenskyy's chief of staff Andriy Yermak, Secretary of the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine Rustem Umerov and national security advisers to European leaders near London.
“The UK’s support for Ukraine remains ironclad as we continue working towards a just and lasting peace,” he said, Caliber.Az reports, citing UK media.
On the same day, Zelenskyy said that the meeting of security advisers from Ukraine and its partner countries had been constructive, adding that Kyiv’s arguments were heard and dangers were taken into account.
He added officials from Britain, the United States, France, Germany, Italy, Finland and Poland took part in the meeting, aiming to consolidate positions to achieve a ceasefire.
