Israel mobilizes additional reserve brigades for northern operations
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have activated the 6th and 228th reserve brigades for operational duties in northern Israel, as confirmed in a recent military announcement.
This follows earlier reports indicating that these brigades were being mobilized, Caliber.Az reports via Israeli media.
The activation of these brigades, along with several other reserve battalions, is part of the IDF's strategy to address increasing tensions along the northern border with Hezbollah in Lebanon. The mobilized units have already engaged in various operations throughout the ongoing Israel-Hamas War.
The IDF aims to sustain combat efforts, focusing on targeting Hezbollah's military capabilities while ensuring that residents of northern Israel can safely return to their homes.
In related remarks, IDF Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi emphasized the military's ongoing operations, stating, "We are not stopping. The air force is striking all day, and we are preparing for an operation."
Additionally, the IDF's 7th Brigade recently completed training exercises near the Lebanese border, preparing troops for combat in challenging mountainous terrain. The exercises were designed to enhance operational and logistical readiness for various scenarios on the northern front, with images showing tanks being deployed to the area.
