Media: Israel to build caravan cities in Gaza as part of ceasefire deal

Israel has committed to a significant increase in humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip as part of the ceasefire agreement, with 600 food trucks set to enter the region daily.

These trucks will carry foodstuffs previously approved for shipment before the onset of the conflict. In addition, Israel has pledged not to obstruct the reconstruction of the Strip, Caliber.Az reports via Israeli media.

As part of the hostage release agreement, Israel has also vowed to allow all residents of northern Gaza to return to their homes. However, with many buildings in the area rendered uninhabitable, plans are in place to establish "caravan cities" to accommodate displaced residents.

These temporary settlements will be funded by international donors and are expected to include tens of thousands of caravans. Construction of the caravan sites is slated to begin as soon as the ceasefire agreement is fully implemented.

In addition to the provision of temporary housing, Israel has committed to rebuilding Gaza's basic infrastructure, including major roads, schools, hospitals, and utilities such as water, sewage, and electricity systems. To facilitate this reconstruction, Israel has agreed to allow Egyptian construction companies to enter Gaza and collaborate with local workers. The agreement also includes the importation of essential building materials, such as engineering tools, steel, and other construction supplies, to support the extensive rebuilding efforts.

These measures mark a significant step in addressing the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and restoring essential services and housing to its population.
