Lithuania holding parliamentary election

Lithuania is holding parliamentary election, with 14 political parties and one coalition competing for seats in the Seimas on October 13.

Polling stations opened at 7:00 a.m. (GMT+3) and will remain open until 8:00 p.m., Caliber.Az reports via foreign media.

According to the Lithuanian Central Electoral Commission’s preliminary data, over 174,000 voters have already cast their ballots during the three days of early voting.  

A total of 141 members will be elected to the Seimas. Some 1,721 candidates are vying for 70 seats in the multi-member electoral district, while 699 candidates are competing for 71 seats in single-member electoral districts.
