US deploys B-52 bombers to Spain for multinational drills
On November 8, 2025, U.S. strategic B-52 bombers from Barksdale Air Force Base, Louisiana, arrived at Morón Air Base in Spain to participate in international training exercises, according to a statement from the U.S. Air Forces in Europe and Africa.
The deployment is part of Operation Europa 26-1, which involves Finland, Lithuania, Sweden, and other allied and partner nations, Caliber.Az reports.
The U.S. Air Force noted that the deployment will allow crews to practice tactics, enhance flexibility, and strengthen interoperability with allies to boost combat readiness. The multinational exercises include a series of missions simulating operations in challenging airspace under high-threat conditions.
These exercises will enhance the ability “to respond rapidly to emerging threats and maintain a credible deterrence along Europe’s Eastern Flank and the High North,” the statement said.
