Moscow optimistic on peace as Armenia-Azerbaijan near historic agreement
Russian president’s press chief Dmitry Peskov affirmed Moscow’s optimism regarding the imminent signing of a peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan, underscoring its critical importance for regional stability.
Addressing a briefing, Peskov expressed hope that no further escalations would occur between the two countries, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.
“We hope this will not happen,” he stated in response to questions about potential renewed hostilities.
Highlighting the progress in negotiations, the Kremlin spokesperson noted, “The countries are nearing the finalization of the treaty, and we remain hopeful that this process will be successfully completed. This agreement is essential for ensuring stability and fostering a secure environment in the region.”
