Musk rebukes WSJ for ethics breach over alleged CEO hunt
Tesla CEO Elon Musk has negated the article published by The Wall Street Journal, claiming that the company board had contacted recruitment firms to initiate a CEO search.
“It is an extremely bad breach of ethics that The Wall Street Journal would publish a deliberately false article and fail to include an unequivocal denial beforehand by the Tesla board of directors!” Musk wrote on his social platform X, Caliber.Az reports.
In a separate X post, Chairman of the board of directors of Tesla Motors Robyn Denholm has stated that the media report is absolutely false, which was communicated to the media before the report was published.
“The CEO of Tesla is and the Board is highly confident in his ability to continue executing on the exciting growth plan ahead,” she added.
On April 30, the Journal had reported that about a month ago, Tesla’s board members had contacted several executive search firms to begin the process of finding a new CEO, according to sources familiar with the matter.
