NATO, Ukraine sign cooperation programme for 2024

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg has said the Alliance and Ukraine have adopted a cooperation programme for 2024, which includes energy security and training of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

"We have signed an extensive programme of cooperation for 2024, which includes interaction on energy security and increasing the interoperability of Ukraine's forces and NATO," Stoltenberg said at a press conference in Brussels on November 29, Caliber.Az reports.

He said the two sides discussed reforms that Kyiv should undertake to move closer to the alliance, including "reforming the military procurement system and reforming the intelligence services."

Moreover, talking about the possible supply of F-16 fighter jets to the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Stoltenberg said the jets will not fundamentally change the situation on the front.

"This [F-16 deliveries] is not a silver bullet, which by itself will solve all the problems, will fundamentally change the situation on the battlefield," Stoltenberg said.

In addition, the secretary-general did not answer the question about the timing of deliveries of aircraft to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
