PM: Armenia needs female soldiers
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has said that it is necessary to call women for military service and to create a new field of activity for them.
Pashinyan made the remarks at a governmental meeting, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Armenian Hraparak newspaper.
“From the very beginning, there will be a lot of doubts, there will be laughter, but the most important thing is that we approach the problem seriously, all our procedures must be at the highest level and our attitude must be as serious as possible. There are no women in the army, there are no men in the army, there are soldiers or military personnel in the army,” Pashinyan said.
Pashinyan also addressed Armenian Defence Minister Suren Papikyan, who was present at the governmental meeting, urging him to draft women during the winter conscription.
