The company was found guilty of violating Part 2 of Article 13.41 of the Code of Administrative Offenses for failing to remove content or websites prohibited in Russia, Caliber.Az reports, citing the information released on the official Telegram channel of Moscow's courts of general jurisdiction.
The court has levied a fine of 3.8 million roubles ($37,925) on Google for this offence.
Earlier, Press Secretary for the Russian president Dmitry Peskov offered advice to Google following a lawsuit amounting to two undecillion roubles.
He stated that the company should not have restricted the work of Russian broadcasters and urged Google to pay attention to the situation and correct the issue.
On October 29, the information went viral that the total claims from 17 Russian TV channels against Google had reached two undecillion roubles. The court noted that the fine was imposed on the corporation due to its refusal to restore access to the accounts of Russian media outlets on YouTube.
