Iran’s IRGC claims successful attack on two US destroyers

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Air Force has claimed a successful attack on two US guided-missile destroyers deployed in the Middle East, IRIB reports.

According to the statement, the USS Delbert D. Black and USS John Paul Jones were targeted in the operation, with the IRGC claiming that both vessels sustained significant damage.

The Corps said the attack came in response to US Navy strikes on Iranian tankers earlier on Tuesday, September 9, when US forces targeted vessels near Iran’s Kharg Island and the southern city of Jask.

The IRGC also vowed to retaliate by targeting tankers located near Bahrain and Kuwait.
