US strikes two Iranian oil tankers in Persian Gulf

The United States has carried out missile strikes on two Iranian oil tankers in the Persian Gulf, with the attacks reported near the islands of Kharg and Jask.

According to Iranian media, the first tanker came under a US missile strike about four miles from Kharg Island. The attack caused no casualties, while local sources said the vessel’s crew began evacuating the ship.

A second Iranian tanker was subsequently struck in the Persian Gulf, this time near Jask Island.

The crews of both tankers were safely evacuated after the attacks.
