President Ilham Aliyev, First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva arrive in Milan PHOTO

On September 5, 2024, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva arrived in Milan as part of their official visit to Italy.

Following high-level meetings in Rome, the Azerbaijani delegation was warmly welcomed at Milan’s Malpensa Airport by senior Italian officials, Caliber.Az reports via local media.

This visit to Italy underscores the strengthening of bilateral relations between the two nations. In Rome, President Aliyev engaged in a series of important diplomatic discussions, including a working lunch with President Sergio Mattarella of Italy. Additionally, President Aliyev held substantive talks with Giorgia Meloni, President of the Council of Ministers of Italy, focusing on key areas of cooperation.

During the meetings, both sides expressed mutual interest in enhancing trade and economic ties. Discussions also covered the broadening of cooperation in crucial sectors such as industry, energy, and the cultural and humanitarian fields.
