President's rep slams France's burning of cultural bridges with Azerbaijan
Azerbaijani President’s Representative on Special Assignments Elchin Amirbayov has slammed France's burning of cultural bridges with Azerbaijan.
Amirbayov made these remarks in an interview with the French Le Monde newspaper, Azertac reports.
He condemned the act of vandalism committed on December 30, 2023 against the monument to Azerbaijani poetess of the 19th-century Khurshidbanu Natavan, erected in Evian, France in 2017.
While referring to France’s disappointing behaviour towards Azerbaijan, he noted that for the first time in the history of the relations with foreign countries, a country has adopted so many biased resolutions that are not based on bilateral relations, but are adopted under the pressure of the Armenian diaspora.
The article, dedicated to the ongoing diplomatic crisis in relations between Paris and Baku, also describes the Azerbaijani parliament’s appeal for the government on January 18, 2024 to break all economic ties with France as a sign of protest to another anti-Azerbaijani resolution adopted by the French Senate.
