Russia accuses NATO of mobilization preparations amidst Ukrainian crisis
Russia's deputy permanent representative to the OSCE, Maxim Buyakevich, has alleged that NATO countries are gearing up for potential mobilization amidst the ongoing military actions in Ukraine.
According to TASS, speaking at a meeting of the OSCE Permanent Council, Buyakevich claimed that NATO member states unaffected by the conflict are transitioning their economies towards military-oriented pursuits.
Buyakevich stated, "Under the guise of the Ukrainian crisis, NATO countries are ramping up their military production, bolstering weapon and ammunition manufacturing, and conducting population counts for potential mobilization purposes."
He further asserted that some NATO states are even simulating strikes on Russian territory during military drills. According to Buyakevich, certain NATO and EU members are escalating the conflict indirectly by supporting Ukraine, thus prolonging the armed confrontation and exacerbating tensions with Russia.
