Russia calls on Armenia to hand over list of people who died in Ukraine’s Bucha

07 June 2024 17:50

Spokesperson for the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova has said that Russia calls on Armenian parliamentarians to share the list of people who died in Ukraine's Bucha city, handed over to Yerevan by Ukraine.

“We really hope that the Armenian side, the official Armenian delegation, will share the list of these people with the Russian side. For two years we have been unable to get anyone, including the UN, to provide us with a list of people who allegedly died there,” Zakharova told reporters on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF), TASS reports.

She added that Russia noticed that “endless delegations” from the EU, the US and Canada visited Bucha.

Zakharova clarified that Moscow does not communicate with these countries.

“However, we regularly negotiate with the Armenian side. We really hope that our Armenian friends will hand over the list of people who allegedly died there [in Bucha],” she said.

Armenian Ambassador to Ukraine Vladimir Karapetyan visited Bucha in the Kyiv region on June 2. The Armenian side donated humanitarian aid to the city. Karapetyan stated that Yerevan will always support the regions affected by the conflict.
