Russia's Zakharova critiques Zelenskyy’s "Victory Plan", calls it "neo-Nazi's rant"
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova condemned Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's plan, which he presented in the Verkhovna Rada, as nothing more than a collection of incoherent slogans.
“This, of course, is no plan at all; it is a set of incoherent slogans, it is bloody foam on the lips of a neo-Nazi murderer,” she stated during a briefing, Caliber.Az reports citing Russian media.
Zakharova highlighted that Zelenskyy aims to strengthen Ukraine's defence through targeted operations in unspecified locations, questioning why he avoids naming these areas. She criticized his intention to damage the Russian air force with the assistance of his partners, saying, “That is, he is pushing NATO to a direct conflict with our country and again insists on getting permission to use long-range weapons on Russian territory, knowing perfectly well, at least those who wrote him these speeches, realized what it would lead to because the corresponding statements by the Russian leadership were made just a week ago.”
In a separate but related comment, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov characterized Zelenskyy's proposal as aligning with a U.S.-dictated policy of prolonging the conflict, which he termed “fighting to the last Ukrainian.” He noted, “For so many weeks now there has been talk about some ephemeral peace plan... Most likely, this is the same plan of the Americans to fight us to the last Ukrainian, which now Zelenskyy has camouflaged and called a 'peace plan,' apparently, it is.”
Peskov concluded by asserting that “some other plan is not there,” reflecting scepticism regarding the authenticity of Zelenskyy's initiative.
