Russian company to roll out automobiles in Azerbaijan

Russian company "Sollers" will start production of cars at the Azerbaijani "Azermash" enterprise in autumn 2023, Marat Sharapov, sales and marketing director of Sollers Alabuga, told reporters.

"We have recently concluded an agreement on the development of cooperation with Azerbaijan. In the autumn we will have the official opening of this project. This will be our first export market," he said, per TASS.

Sharapov added that the company also has plans to enter the markets of other countries, including primarly the countries of the Customs Union, with which the documents necessary for the launch have been unified, including the recognition of the Russian Vehicle Approval (OTTS).

In May, "Sollers" and "Azermash" signed an agreement, according to which the Russian automaker will launch the production of light commercial vehicles using Russian components at the facilities of the Azerbaijani enterprise.
