Russian Defense Minister Shoigu shows Kinzhal missile system to Kim Jong Un
Russian Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu showed DPRK leader Kim Jong-un "samples of Russian combat aircraft" at the Knevichi airfield in Vladivostok.
"The leader of the DPRK Kim Jong-un at the Knevichi aerodrome viewed a supersonic strategic bomber-missile carrier Tu-160, a turboprop strategic bomber-missile carrier Tu-95MS and a long-range supersonic missile-carrier-bomber Tu-22M3. These aircraft make up the air component of Russia's strategic nuclear forces," the Russian defence ministry said in a press release, Kommersant reports.
It is specified that during the meeting with Kim Jong-un, Lieutenant General Sergei Kobylash, Commander of the Long Range Aviation of the Russian Air Force, reported on the characteristics of the strategic missile carriers presented to the DPRK leader, their armament and combat capabilities.
Sergei Shoigu also presented to the North Korean leader a Russian MiG-31I missile carrier with the latest weaponry - the Kinzhal hypersonic air missile system.
