Russian PM congratulates Azerbaijani counterpart

Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin has had a phone talk with Azerbaijani counterpart Ali Asadov.

Mishustin congratulated Asadov on his appointment as prime minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Report reports citing the Azerbaijani government.

During the phone talk, the sides highly appreciated the development of friendly relations and mutually beneficial cooperation between Azerbaijan and Russia, and expressed hope for further strengthening of the strategic partnership.

The Azerbaijani Parliament has approved the appointment of Ali Asadov as prime minister of Azerbaijan.

The issue of his appointment was put to a vote and adopted.

Asadov has been serving as Azerbaijan's prime minister since October 8, 2019.
