SOCAR plans to open representative office in Turkmenistan
The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) plans to open a representative office in Turkmenistan.
The remarks came from the Deputy Head of the Department of Science and Technology of SOCAR Emin Alekperov at the XXVII International Oil and Gas Conference (OGT-2022) in Ashgabat, Report informs citing the Turkmen media.
Alekperov noted that SOCAR is engaged in exploration, development, production, transportation and processing of oil and gas: "The company has joint ventures, representative offices and factories in a number of countries, as well as its own research and design institute."
The representative of the company drew attention to the fact that at present Azerbaijan is mainly engaged in the extraction of natural resources in its part of the Caspian Sea: “Drilling platforms are interconnected by overpasses, just like on the Turkmen side. There is also an established network of pipelines for the transit of hydrocarbons from the offshore to onshore. With a business approach, countries can combine them, which does not take large material resources. In the future, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan may join the pipeline for further transportation of their energy resources to foreign markets.”
The SOCAR employee also stressed the importance of OGT-2022 for establishing political, economic and cultural ties between states. He added that business meetings are actively held at this international forum, which help to accelerate the resolution of technical issues of interaction.
