SOHR: Iranian forces redeploy after Israeli airstrike in eastern Syria
The London-based monitoring group The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) reports that pro-Iranian militant groups have been relocating after their positions and trucks were attacked in eastern Syria, near the border with Iraq.
According to NEWSru.co.il, a group of militants arrived from al-Bukamal and Dir al-Zour at the T-3 base (east of Palmyra).
At the same time, it is noted that the border crossing, where pro-Iranian forces were attacked a few days earlier, is now open and functioning again.
According to SOHR, air strikes near al-Bukamal on November 9 destroyed truckloads of weapons and oil arriving in Syria from Iran via Iraqi territory. SOHR sources confirm the deaths of 14 people in the airstrike.
The Wall Street Journal quoted its sources as saying that the airstrike was carried out by Israel.
The US Central Command (Centcom) said the US Army was not involved in the attack. Israel made no comment.
