Spanish police seizes over 11 tons of cocaine in coastal region
Spanish authorities have successfully conducted two operations against cocaine smuggling, resulting in the confiscation of 11 tons of illegal narcotics.
As reported by Euronews, the sting operation resulted in the arrest of 20 individuals. In one operation in Vigo, northwestern Spain, 7,500 kilograms of cocaine were discovered hidden among pieces of frozen tuna.
Authorities revealed that a criminal organization was utilizing a frozen seafood company as a front to smuggle drugs from South America to Spain.
In a separate sting in Valencia, 3,400 kilograms of cocaine were found in false bottoms of shipping containers.
While the authorities did not reveal the exact dates of these stings but disclosed that the operations were linked to criminal organizations in the Balkans region.
