Trump says US actions intimidate Russia and China, worry NATO allies
President Donald Trump claimed that US actions under his leadership intimidate Russia and China and even raise concerns among NATO members.
In a new post on Truth Social, he claimed that without his involvement, Russia would have already taken over Ukraine and that Russia and China would ignore NATO, Caliber.Az reports.
The president recalled that before his presidency, most NATO members spent around 2% of GDP or less on defence, while the United States “paid for them.”
According to Trump, his policies forced NATO allies to increase their defence spending, raising the target to 5%, which allies eventually accepted.
“Without my involvement, Russia would have ALL OF UKRAINE right now. Remember, also, I single-handedly ENDED 8 WARS, and Norway, a NATO Member, foolishly chose not to give me the Nobel Peace Prize. But that doesn’t matter! What does matter is that I saved Millions of Lives. RUSSIA AND CHINA HAVE ZERO FEAR OF NATO WITHOUT THE UNITED STATES, AND I DOUBT NATO WOULD BE THERE FOR US IF WE REALLY NEEDED THEM,” Trump wrote.
He added that during his first term he revived the American military and plans to continue strengthening it.
“We will always be there for NATO, even if they won’t be there for us. The only Nation that China and Russia fear and respect is the DJT [Donald J. Trump] REBUILT U.S.A.,” the American leader concluded.
