Speaker: "Georgia will not accept pressure over OSCE fact-finding mission"
Georgian Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili said Georgia would not accept criticism from what he described as “friends and allies of those who created a system of torturing people,” commenting on the activation of the OSCE’s Moscow Mechanism.
According to Caliber.Az, citing local media, Papuashvili said the move reflects an attempt to pressure the country.
“This fact shows that there is a desire to blackmail and intimidate the Georgian people. We have nothing to hide from anyone. There is no issue for which we do not have an answer. Official Tbilisi is ready for dialogue on all topics. On the contrary, we see the blocking of any dialogue by Brussels. The activation of the Moscow Mechanism has nothing to do with the country’s image and will simply be a fact-finding mission. The initiator of this idea is Poland,” Papuashvili said.
