Suspect in mass shooting remains on the run in US state of Maine
An intensive manhunt is underway for a suspect in a shooting rampage in the US state of Maine which took place on October 25.
As reported by CNN, the gunman opened fire at two locations, a bowling alley and a restaurant where he left at least 18 dead and 13 injured.
The police have identified the suspect as a 40-year-old certified firearms instructor and a member of the US Army Reserves.
Law enforcement is urging the residents of Lewiston, the state's second-largest city, to remain inside and report any suspicious activity.
Following news of yet another US mass shooting, the White House have called on newly elected House Republican Speaker Mike Johnson to "find common ground" and pass legislation to curb gun violence. White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre urged the message by recommending measures like banning assault weapons and enacting universal background checks.
