Transnational cocaine ring to Ukraine dismantled Armenian citizens among arrested
Ukrainian authorities have uncovered a transnational cocaine supply network, with several arrests including citizens of Armenia, the Czech Republic, Germany, and Ukraine.
A court has placed the suspected organizer under pre-trial detention without the possibility of bail, the State Bureau of Investigation of Ukraine announced, Caliber.Az reports.
The bureau conducted a special operation to dismantle the criminal group, which orchestrated the trafficking of cocaine from various European countries into Ukraine. The members operated with a high degree of secrecy, maintained clearly defined roles, and employed multiple logistical layers to transport the drugs.
The group’s organizer had previously served a prison sentence in the United States for similar offenses. Upon returning to Ukraine, he resumed criminal activities, recruiting accomplices abroad. Investigators reported that the cocaine shipments were planned in weekly batches of up to 2 kilograms.
The organizer was apprehended in Odessa, and the investigation into the network’s operations continues.
