Argentina’s cabinet chief resigns amid corruption scandal
Argentina’s Cabinet Chief Manuel Adorni has announced his resignation amid a major corruption scandal and months of pressure from opposition parties and the media..
The former television presenter and economics professor was one of the closest allies of President Javier Milei and served as a prominent public face of the administration’s anti-corruption campaign.

According to Bloomberg, media scrutiny intensified over Adorni’s spending on luxury items, including the purchase of an expensive property near Buenos Aires, trips to resorts in Aruba and Uruguay, as well as private and government-funded flights used by his family.
Adorni has denied any wrongdoing. In his resignation letter, published on social media, he described the investigation as a media slaughter and a relentless campaign of persecution.
The former official insisted that no act of corruption had ever been proven against him and said he was stepping down to shield his family from continued media scrutiny.
Shortly before resigning, however, Adorni acknowledged in a television interview that he had failed to declare $500,000 to tax authorities, money he said was earned through early investments in Bitcoin.
