Defence chief: Israel would return Iran to "Stone Age" if attacked
Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz has warned that Israel would target Iran’s infrastructure, including its energy facilities, if Tehran attacks Israel.
Speaking at a Jewish New Year toast with Defence Ministry employees in Tel Aviv on September 3, Katz said there were signs that economic pressure and fears of an uprising and the fall of Iran’s regime could push Tehran to take “desperate measures”, Caliber.Az reports, citing Israeli media.
“An Iranian attack on Israel will free us from all constraints. We will strike all infrastructure — including energy infrastructure — and return Iran to the Stone Age and darkness,” he said.
Katz added that Israel was prepared for any scenario, saying: “Israel is well prepared, defensively and offensively, for every possibility — and the IDF is ready to carry out the mission.”
