Polish FM says Warsaw prepared for potential conflict with Russia

Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski has issued a strong statement regarding Russia, saying that Warsaw is prepared for a potential conflict if necessary.

In an interview with CBS News, Sikorski argued that Poland’s military capabilities are rapidly expanding and stressed the country’s determination to defend its interests.

The minister pointed to several factors, including Poland’s defense spending as a share of GDP, which he said exceeds that of the United States, as well as the country's arsenal of modern military equipment, including F-16 and F-35 fighter jets, Abrams tanks, and HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems.

Sikorski emphasized that Poland would not back down in the face of threats and would “do what it has always done” in the event of a conflict.

Moscow has not yet issued an official response to Sikorski’s remarks.
