Türkiye showcases ALPAGUT intelligent kamikaze drone PHOTO/VIDEO

The Turkish companies STM and Roketsan have developed a new bomber munition, dubbed ALPAGUT.

ALPAGUT is an intelligent kamikaze drone suitable for both ground and airborne operations, according to Gagaget.Com.

The hovering munition is attached under the wing in place of the missile. After launch, it spreads its wings and heads towards the target.

The drone is designed to destroy ground and maritime radar, communications, electronic warfare, light armoured vehicles, ammunition depots, strongholds, and enemy manpower.

The maximum launch range of ALPAGUT is 60 km. The loitering munition carries a warhead weighing up to 11 kg and can travel at an altitude of 3.5 km. Once the target is detected it can follow it and fly in circles at an altitude of 300-1,500 metres. The maximum flight time is about 60 minutes.
