Two aircraft make emergency landings at Baku airport
Two aircraft were forced to make emergency landings at Baku’s Heydar Aliyev International Airport on separate occasions due to a passenger medical emergency and adverse weather conditions, authorities said.
A Finnair Airbus A350 flying from Helsinki to Phuket requested an emergency landing after the sudden deterioration of a passenger’s health, Caliber.Az reports.
The aircraft touched down safely at 00:54 local time. Emergency responders provided first aid to the passenger, who was then hospitalised in a local clinic. The flight continued to its destination at 02:59.
Separately, a Cargolux Boeing 747 en route from Zhengzhou, China, to Ashgabat, Turkmenistan, made an emergency landing at Baku Airport at 08:32 local time due to poor weather conditions at its intended destination.
The airport’s press service confirmed that in both cases, all procedures were carried out in strict accordance with established protocols and international aviation safety standards.
