UAE remittances to Azerbaijan surge in first half of 2026

Remittances sent by individuals from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to Azerbaijan reached $23.2 million in the first half of 2026, marking a 25.4% increase compared with the same period last year.

The increase amounted to $4.717 million year on year. The UAE accounted for 3.1% of total remittances received by Azerbaijan during the reporting period, Caliber.Az reports via local media.

In contrast, remittances sent from Azerbaijan to the UAE fell by 24.4% to $8.4 million.

Overall, remittances from individuals abroad to Azerbaijan totaled $748.4 million in the first half of 2026, up 40.17% year on year. Outbound remittances from Azerbaijan to foreign countries, meanwhile, amounted to $207.8 million, down 12.7%.
