Ukraine said to attack Russia with self-destructing drones
Ukrainian Armed Forces have begun to launch drones with a self-destruct timer into Russia.
These types of drones explode after a certain time after the engine stops, according to the Telegram channel Shot.
“Russian sappers are now working on a version with timers on drones that are activated after the engine stops. The projectile carried by the vehicle explodes anyway, but a little later. The timer is automatically activated as soon as the engine stops,” the channel writes.
According to Shot, at least two possible cases of self-destruction of the Ukrainian army drones are known - both attacks were carried out on September 17. The first Ukrainian drone, which was carrying a charge, fell near a state farm in Voronezh Region. When law enforcers started inspecting it, the UAV exploded.
The second drone, disabled by the Russian military, has self-detonated near an oil depot in the town of Lgov, Kursk Region.
In both cases, about an hour elapsed from the moment the drone fell to the explosion. There were no casualties.
