Ukraine, US to buy 400 reconnaissance drones from German company

Ukraine will receive 300 reconnaissance drones of Vector model from German company Quantum Systems of Munich.

The contract for the purchase of 100 drones of the same model was signed by the US Marines, according to TASS, the newspaper Handelsblatt reported this on May 31, without specifying the source of information.

The contract with the Ukrainian side is estimated at €57 million, with delivery terms - until the beginning of 2024. As the newspaper points out, the German government will finance the delivery as part of the next aid package. The size of the contract with the United States is $20 million.

In January, it was reported that the Kyiv authorities ordered about 100 Vector drones from Quantum Systems.

This drone is equipped with airplane wing span of 2.8 metres. Maximum takeoff weight is 7.4 kg, flight time - up to two hours, flight speed - up to 25 m/sec. Vector is designed for surveillance, reconnaissance and information gathering.
