Belarus, Iran open door to full-spectrum cooperation in presidential talks
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has arrived in Belarus for official talks with President Aleksandr Lukashenko, marking a significant step in strengthening bilateral relations between Tehran and Minsk.
The visit commenced with a formal welcome ceremony at the Palace of Independence, where President Pezeshkian was greeted by a guard of honor in the inner courtyard. The national anthems of Iran and Belarus were performed, after which the two leaders proceeded to the Hall of Ceremonies for an official photo opportunity, Caliber.Az reports, citing Belarus media.
During a one-on-one meeting, President Lukashenko reiterated Belarus' openness to broad-based cooperation with Iran. “We are ready to discuss any questions; no topics are off limits for us,” Lukashenko stated at the outset of the talks, underlining Minsk’s commitment to fostering comprehensive dialogue with Tehran.
The Belarusian leader emphasized that areas of potential collaboration include food security, industrial production, and defence technology.
“There are no secrets here. We are not building friendship against anyone. Everything we do is for the benefit of the peoples of our two countries,” Lukashenko noted, reinforcing the strategic and peaceful intent of the partnership.
