Uzbekistan becomes Central Asia’s first C-390 Millennium customer PHOTO

Brazilian aerospace manufacturer Embraer has unveiled the first C-390 Millennium military transport aircraft produced for the Uzbekistan Air Force, making Uzbekistan the first customer of the aircraft in Central Asia.

Photographs released by Embraer show the aircraft in a gray livery featuring the inscription “UZ AIR FORCE,” the Uzbek flag and national Air Force insignia. The aircraft bears the tail number UK 39010, Caliber.Az reports, citing Uzbek media.

“Today, Embraer presents the first C-390 Millennium aircraft of the Uzbekistan Air Force, making the Republic of Uzbekistan the first C-390 customer in Central Asia,” the company said.

Uzbekistan’s acquisition of the C-390 Millennium was first disclosed in February at the Singapore Airshow, when Embraer identified the country as a previously undisclosed customer.

The aircraft are primarily designed for military transport and humanitarian missions. Embraer has not disclosed the number of aircraft ordered by Uzbekistan or the value of the contract.
