Israel resumes extensive operations around Gaza Strip amid mobilization of reservists

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have resumed intensive military operations in and around the Gaza Strip, marking an escalation in their campaign following the recent approval of an offensive plan targeting the city of Gaza.

According to a statement by the IDF’s press service, large-scale operations have recommenced particularly in the Jabalia area in the northern sector of the Gaza enclave, as well as surrounding the city itself. These operations are part of a broader effort to establish firm operational control on the ground, Caliber.Az reports.

In recent days, Israeli forces have successfully destroyed multiple military installations and eliminated numerous militants, signaling the intensification of tactical maneuvers aimed at weakening hostile elements within the region.

The IDF has issued warnings to the civilian population residing in the combat zones, urging them to evacuate southwards to safeguard their lives and minimize civilian casualties. “The civilian population in the combat zone has been warned and urged to evacuate southward for their safety, in order to minimize harm among non-combatants,” the military’s press release stated.

Simultaneously, the Israeli military has approved the mobilization of 60,000 reservists as part of the forthcoming phase of Operation Gideon's Chariots, underscoring the scale and seriousness of the operation. Additionally, approximately 20,000 soldiers are expected to receive notifications extending their current service commitments, further reinforcing the IDF’s operational capabilities in the area.
