UN affirms readiness to support Azerbaijan in hosting COP29 PHOTO
Under-Secretary-General for Policy at the United Nations Guy Ryder has affirmed the organization’s readiness to support Azerbaijan in hosting COP29 as he met with Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov.
The meeting featured discussions on the current agenda of cooperation between Azerbaijan and the UN, as well as issues of joint actions with the UN on the sidelines of the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP29) to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change to be held in Baku, the ministry told Report.

The sides underlined the importance of UN activity in Azerbaijan, saying that the country effectively cooperates with the organization, including its specialized bodies.
The UN official was informed about the current state of and prospects for the peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia, as well as the current regional situation and recent developments.
Congratulating Azerbaijan on hosting COP29, the Under-Secretary-General affirmed the UN’s readiness to fully support Azerbaijan in this process. He also informed on behalf of the UN Secretary General about the "Summit of the Future" to be held in New York this September.
The parties also exchanged views on regional issues of mutual interest.
