US expedites $4 billion in military aid to Israel under new emergency declaration
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has signed a declaration using emergency powers to accelerate the delivery of approximately $4 billion in military assistance to Israel.
This decision, which overrides previous restrictions under the Biden administration, aims to support Israel's defense amid ongoing regional tensions, Caliber.Az reports, citing the US State Department's press service.
"I have signed a declaration to use emergency authorities to expedite the delivery of approximately $4 billion in military assistance to Israel. The decision to reverse the Biden Administration’s partial arms embargo, which wrongly withheld a number of weapons and ammunition from Israel, is yet another sign that Israel has no greater ally in the White House than President Trump," Rubio stated.
This move follows a broader pattern of military support for Israel under the Trump administration, which has approved nearly $12 billion in Foreign Military Sales (FMS) since taking office. The decision comes at a time of heightened conflict, with Israel facing multiple fronts in its struggle against Iran and various terror proxies.
"The Trump Administration will continue to use all available tools to fulfill America’s long-standing commitment to Israel’s security, including means to counter security threats," Rubio added.
