Israel begins work on new pipeline delivering water to Gaza
Israel’s Defence Ministry announced that construction has begun on a new water pipeline linking Egypt’s desalination plant to the Al-Mawasi area in Gaza, aiming to provide a vital lifeline to hundreds of thousands of residents.
According to the statement posted on X, the pipeline—funded and facilitated by the United Arab Emirates—will operate independently of Israeli water infrastructure and is expected to serve approximately 600,000 people along Gaza’s coast, Caliber.Az reports.
Today (July 30), work began to connect the Emirati water line from the desalination plant in Egypt to the Al-Mawasi area along the coast. The line will serve around 600,000 residents and operate independently of Israeli water pipelines. Work is expected to take several weeks.
