Germany, India push for swift EU-India trade deal

German Chancellor Friedrich Merz and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi have called for the swift signing of a free trade agreement between the European Union and India.
The two leaders discussed the agreement during a phone call, German government spokesman Stefan Kornelius told reporters, Caliber.Az reports, citing foreign media.
They also reaffirmed the strategic partnership between Germany and India and exchanged views on regional and international issues.
Merz and Modi also discussed cooperation on security policy, Kornelius said.
