Yerevan protests demand Armenian PM's impeachment
Protesters, who gathered on Yerevan's Baghramyan Avenue, demand MPs from the opposition factions Hayastan and I Have Honour enter the parliament building and launch a process of expressing no confidence in Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
"Go to your offices, start work and wait in a live broadcast for the deputies of the Civil Contract," said protester Garik Galeyan, the father of Mkhitar Galeyan, who died in the 44–day war, Caliber.Az reports citing the Armenian media.
The protesters warned that if the deputies from the ruling faction do not appear in parliament before 01:15 [September 15], they will go to the houses of parliamentarians and bring them to the National Assembly by force.
According to them, this is the last day of Pashinyan's reign. Activists noted that all those gathered should show maximum patience.
At the moment, 35 opposition deputies have expressed their readiness to launch the impeachment process. To start, 18 more signatures are needed, which the protesters intend to receive from the ruling faction MPs.
