Embassies of Azerbaijan,Türkiye, some other states in US celebrate Novruz

The embassies of Azerbaijan, Türkiye, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan in the United States have together celebrated the Novruz holiday.

The ceremony featured national music and dances of the aforementioned countries, cultural samples - carpets, musical instruments, national costumes and treats, Report informs, citing the Azerbaijani embassy in the US.

"Novruz is an ancestral festival that promotes values of peace and solidarity, reconciliation and good neighbourliness among people and generations," the embassy said.

In addition, according to Azerbaijan’s State Committee for Work with the Diaspora, the Azerbaijani community in Greek Thessaloniki city held an event to celebrate the Novruz holiday.

The celebration, organised by the Greece-Azerbaijan Friendship Society "GALA" and the Azerbaijani House of Thessaloniki, was attended by Azerbaijanis living in Greece, representatives of the local community and various communities.

Rashid Mammadov, head of GALA and the House of Azerbaijan in Thessaloniki, greeted the participants and congratulated Azerbaijanis all over the world and the Turkic world as a whole on Novruz.

He noted that this holiday, which marks the arrival of spring, is widely celebrated in Azerbaijan, as well as in other countries.

Mammadov also hailed the demonstration of solidarity and cohesion of Azerbaijanis living outside the country on national holidays and historic days.

The guests who addressed the event expressed their best wishes on the occasion of the Novruz holiday.
